Daily Journal Continued October26,1998, By-William Thomas Thompson Food,football and the sacred bed on this blue Mondaymorning. I broke a promise to myself on Saturday about 3pm when I called a friend that seems to always want to hear from me,but he was watc- hing the ball game and couldnot understand why I was not watching also as any normal person would be doing. You see,I promised that I would never call anyone again friend or foe and that not really a hard promise to keep since we have zero friends for the last 10 years since we lost everything,it is strange howeasy one can lose friends when they need them most,even most church folks no longer know you if you are broke,anyway,I confess,I called him because I was going near his house on my way to Barnes&Noble book store and as I always try to make the most of my miles. I was hoping toshow my new book, "The End is Near",and I thought he would want to see it but I should know to not try and compete with sports. Never a- gain will I dare call,I may offend someone,even a wife or husband or both. Most calls are selfish anyway,many people want me tosell things by calling friends. I would not dare do it noteven beg for charity. I donot understand why I wasnot born to waste my time on watching ball games,we worked everyday milking cows and growing a lot of feed for them to eat and for us to eat also. Clemson Coll-ege was playing Carolina or Kentucky or someone,I for get what he said,in fact,I donot even know the game they are playing and that is real dumb,I suspect it is football in the Fall,although I like baseball better,if football would just let that man run and would not always block him,it would be better. Sometimes he don't get a foot until they tackle him and throw him down and all jump on top of him and break him bones. I say,let him run and fowl anybody at all that gets in his way or that don't get out of his way,this is the game I would like to play. Just run and run away all the day. Dear Lord,Give me Spiritual understanding of thy Holy Word. I long for lunch or dinner as we say at the CrackerBarrel Restau-rant over on I-85,to eat beans&greens only as an entree with real butter on real homemade cornbread and onions. Great turnip greens with pinto beans is the absolute greatest eating in the world and is as healthy as you can get without a single grain of any sugar. I like to feel light after I eat without any meat,please eatright I looked up sacred in my new concordance but it is not listed. Hebrews13-4"Marriage is honourable in all,and the bed is undefil-ed:but whosemongers and adulterers God will Judge.5-Let your con-versation be without covetousness and be content with such things as you have:for He hath said,I will never leave thee,nor forsake thee.6-So that we may boldly say,The Lord is my helper,and I will not fear what man shall do unto me". Some take this scripture to mean that anything a man and wife do in bed is okay with God but I disagree. Unnatural sex including oral sex is a sin for all the people of the world and is worst than animals act. Let men be men and women be women and do it right as God intended mankind to do. God has given us wisdom and knowledge,let us put God first and to put ourselves last but do God's Will always even if all the world is doing it another way. Am I supposed to care who wins the ball game? Sorry,I donot. When someone wins,someone loses and that is life. I understand sports but it shouldnot come ahead of more im- portant things suchas responsibilities to family or to neighbors.
